My passion for pottery started when I first watched a master potter wrok at the wheel during a school field trip- I was fascinated by how a lump of clay could become something beautiful and useful. Since then, creating something with my hands has always been inspiring for me. After I came back to the South Bay area of San Francisco, I set up my own studio and explored how to provide interesting art themes for the art courses I teach. In my spare time, I continuously improve my artistic creation process.

Left: My recent artwork explores quiescence- a static state of mind that emerges after experiencing various tangible and intangible pressures in daily life. I am interested in building clay forms that embody different physical forces. The textures on the clay reveale how I transfer my invisible pressures into a visible surface.

The process of pottery creation, as if riding a giant vehicle, carrying I myself into a time tunnel, allows to recall many special moments.
